| Body of a youth murdered at Sumbal 5 months back exhumed, postmortem conducted | | | Srinagar, November 4: The body of a youth murdered five months back at Sumbal Sonawari was exhumed on Saturday for conducting the postmortem. Divulging details Dr Rafeeq Ahmed, brother of 28 year old slain youth Nasir Ali Malla S/O Haji Gh Mohd R/O Harinarah Sumbal Sonawari, while talking to KNS said Nasir left home for watering his paddy field on May 27, 2006,but did not return till late in the evening following which the family started hectic efforts for searching Nasir, but his body was recovered on May 28 early in the morning from the same paddy field. A case under FIR.No:212/06 , U/S 302 RPC was registered at P/S Sumbal, he added. The preliminary investigation, according to Dr Rafeeq, ruled out role of any form of violence in the death of Nasir following which his burial was performed. Howeverfew weeks late it was revealed that Nasir, according to Dr Rafiq was killed. Consequently the family of Nasir had sought the permission of Deputy Commissioner Baramulla for exhuming the body of Nasir for conducting postmortem. The permission was granted to the family. The body of Nasir was, according to KNS Correspondent, exhumed under the supervision of Block Medical Officer Pattan Dr Gh hussain Bhat and Eexcutive Magistrate Pattan Qadri Ali Mohammad. Since the body was mutilated, post mortem was conducted on spot and samples were taken for tests by experts of Forensic Laboratory. The family of Nasir alleges that authorities of P/S Sumbal resorted to dilly delaying tactics in a bid to leave the murderers' scot free. The police tried to obstruct the exhuming of body times and again. The victim Nasir, according to his brother Dr Rafeeq, had fallen in love with a girl and the family of deceased youth is not ruling out the murder of Nasir by the relatives of the said girl. |
