Pandit leaders decry Govt. apathy towards unemployed youths | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Nov 28: Leaders of various Kashmiri Pandit organisations blamed the National Conference led Government for playing with the sentiments of the displaced people by not filling up the remaining 3,000 posts that had been placed in the state sector under the Prime Minister's employment package. Vice president of All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference,H.L.Chatha,today said that under the package 3,000 posts had to be kept in the central sector and the remaining 3,000 in the state sector. He said but the state Government expressed its inability to meet the wage bill of 3,000 employees and instead the Revenue and Relief Minister,Raman Bhalla, had requested the central Government to include the remaining 3,000 jobs in the central sector. Chatha said that hitherto there was no response from the Government of India. In reply to a question he said that appointment letters were being issued to about 2,000 youths who had been selected for different posts in the Kashmir valley. He said that there were about 16,000 unemployed youths among the displaceed families and giving jobs to 2,000 to 3,000 youths would not be able to solve the growing problem of unemployment among the internally displaced people. In reply to another question Chatha said that there were over 10,000 educated youths who had crossed 35 years and needed a special package from the Government. He said that those who had gone overage needed to be given one-time financial aid to the tune of Rs.25 lakhs per head so that they are able to invest that money in setting up small industrial units. Chatha appealed to the state and the central Governments to formulate a special job package for the internally displaced youth so that they were able to lead a normal life
