3 held with 11 cattle

JAMMU, Nov 28: Three persons were apprehended at Satwari here last night while they were trying to smuggle 11 cattle to Srinagar. Police sources said a truck (JK13/9413) was signalled by cops to stop for routine checking at Satwari here last night.
However, when its driver ignored the signal and sped away, the cops chased the vehicle and intercepted it, the sources added. The search of the truck led cops to the recovery of 11 cattle, which were being smuggled to Srinagar.
The truck driver and two cattle smugglers travelling with him were then arrested and the truck seized. The accused were identified as Farooq Ahmad of Talwara, Mohammad
Salim and Bashir Ahmad, both residents of Prankote. Police had registered a case in this connection.
