| Mussa Club holds Jammu Sports-A to 2-2 draw | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Nov 28: Fighting from behind, Mussa Club held formidable side of Jammu Sports-A to a 2-2 draw in the last league tie of the Senior Division Football League Tournament, organised by Jammu wing of Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) at GGM Science College ground, here today.
However, both the sides have qualified for the super league round of the tournament. In all, six teams have made it to the super league round which starts from first week of December. Other four qualifying team are Young Hero, Young Rovers, Churchill Brothers-A and Vijay Club.
Earlier, in today’s match, Jammu Sports were leading by two goals at the end of first half, but Mussa Club fought from behind to level the score on board 2-2. Rohit Sandhu netted both the goals for Jammu Sports-A striking in 4th and 15th minute while Sunil Dogra (38th) and Stanzin Bahadur (59th) scored from Mussa Club.
Jr Division: Sainik Colony blanks Pallanwala
Meanwhile, in junior division football league, Sainik Colony Club blanked Pallanwala Club 5-0 to qualify for the super league round at Mini Stadium Parade here. Sainik Colony won all their five matches to secure highest 15 points from group-A. In today’s match, Suraj Kumar (17th), Gagandeep (19th), Vivek (45th) and Ishan Sharma (47th and 49th) were scorers from winners Sainik Colony.
With Sainik Colony’s entry, the super league position has been cleared. Other four teams entered the super league round are Young Churchhill-A (group-C), Param Club (group-B), Cantt Star (group-D) and Bhagat Singh Club (group-E).
FIXTURE: New Dogra to face Manjit Singh Club at 1 pm and Hero Club shall meet Pallanwala Club at 2.30 pm on November 30.
Sub-Jr Division: Christian Star, Young Tigers win
In the Division-C of sub-junior boys’ league that started today at Mini Stadium, Parade, Christian Star-B, Young Tiger, Young Churchill-B and Stalion Club won their respective matches.
Earlier, in the first match, Christian Star-B beat Vijay Star 3-0. Sahil Sotra (37th), Falves (39th), Abhishek Gill (40th) were the scorers.
In another match, Young Tigers blanked JKPS Club 11-0. Parul Kalsi (6th, 39th, 40th), Honey Mehra (15th, 26th, 36th, 41st, 45th), Sanju (18th), Sourabh Gupta (43rd) and Raghav (50th) were scorers.
Young Churchill-B held Vijay Young to a 1-1 draw. Ankush scored in the third minute for Vijay Yound while Karan Thakur equalized in the 38th minute.
In the fourth match of the day, Stalion Club defeated New Young Star by a solitary goal. Gipson scored the only goal of the match in the 40th minute.
Today’s matches were officiated by Sagar Kumar, Vinay Mooman, Sahil, Harneel Singh, Rakesh Kumar, Mantu, Fiestus Sotra and Younus Don.
