BJP Mahila Morcha demands action against erring lady cop | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Nov 28: Bhartiya Janata Party Mahila Morcha today demanded identification and action against those elements in State police force who are working against the interests of the State and the nation. There are many elements within the belt force of J&K Police who do not only have sympathies with anti-national and separatist elements but also work clandestinely with them to carry out their nefarious designs, BJP Mahila Morcha State President Sakina Bano told reporters while addressing press conference alongwith BJP State General Secretary Usha Choudhary, Secretary Mamta Singh and Mahila Morcha General Secretary Priya Sethi. Referring to the protest demonstration by the morcha activists at Tawi Bridge yesterday, Sakina Bano pointed out that a lady constable had rebuked and tried to physically assault party workers when they were protesting and rising against Pakistan. The lady constable in rage threatened our women activists not to refer to Pakistan and Kashmir, she said, adding this all happened in presence of senior officers of Jammu and Kashmir Police. ‘’We demand immediate suspension of the lady constable, who protested against anti-Pakistan slogans raised during the demonstration and also those police officers for not taking action against her The Director General of Police, J&K, needs to weed out such elements wherever they exist in the force in order to clean the image of police and tell to the nation that police force is not infested with anti-social, anti-national and separatist elements. Usha Choudhary, Mamta Singh and Priya Sethi expressed concern over the failure of the authorities to deploy adequate number of women police, including women officers, to deal exclusively with any kind of protests by women-folk. We have adequate number of women police officers as also women cops in J&K Police to tackle such situations as claimed by the government. The women BJP leaders also condemned the police high handedness in dealing with peaceful protestors. The role of male police officers and cops was not in line with the decency that the men are expected to show towards women folk, they added.
