Inaugurates veterinary mobile centre at Katarmal Rajouri | People's co-operation must for peace and development: Shabir | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Nov 28-Minister of State for Power, CA&PD and Transport, Shabir Ahmad Khan today said asserted that providing of improved amenities with special focus on better road connectivity, provision of drinking water, power supply besides better health care and quality education tops the agenda of the government. The minister was addressing public meetings in remotest villages of Katarmal and Pirkanju in border district Rajouri. The minister said a number of State and Centre welfare scheme under implementation have shown better results at grass root level, adding that deserving people should come forward and approach with concerned authorities for taking full benefits of these schemes. He disclosed that the first phase of Rajouri- Katarmal road has been completed at cost of Rs 2.46 crore whereas the work on phase 2nd of this road would be taken up under PMGSY shortly after receiving formal approval of the government, said the today while The Minister said that work on ongoing water supply scheme Katarmal is being completed at cost of Rs. 1.74 crore during current financial year, adding, this scheme after completion would provide drinking water supply facility to more 5000 souls of the area. He said the power scenario in the area is being also upgraded, for which an amount of Rs. 10 lakh is being expended on construction of Electric substation and laying of high and low transmission lines. The Minister said that today's newly inaugurated mobile veterinary centre at Katarmal have fulfilled long pending demand of the people. He regarding better medicare facilities to the cattle population of the area. Later, the Minister distributed cheques worth Rs. 2 Lakh among the BPL families of the area for construction of houses under Indira Awaz Yojana.
