| DPS celebrates ‘grandparents day’ | | Elder generations, the real essence and spirit of society: Renzu | | SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 04– At an impressive and well attended function held at Delhi Public School, Srinagar, the distinguished grand parents of the students were honoured with shawls who inspite of their age group of 70-80 years are taking full care to attend and grow up their grand children. The function organized with the most humble and genuine cause was praised by all that participated in this unique and interesting merger of generation’s programme. The Principal of Delhi Public School, Mrs. Neeru Suman, Director Information Khwaja Farooq Renzu, Project Manager Helpage India, Mr. P. Rajan, a galaxy of intellectuals, writers, eminent personalities and hundreds of grand parents of the students attended the function. The progrrame which was jointly organized by DPS Srinagar and Helpage India started with a prayer by students which was composed of all religious thoughts and was based on peace and love. The students also presented colourful programmes by demonstrating great talent through various cultural items. The Director Information who was the Chief Guest on the occasion while addressing the august gathering highlighted the historical background of J&K State which from the time immemorial stood as epitome of peace, love, communal amity and intellectual heights. He said that only those societies prosper who give due respect to their older generations, as they are actually the real essence and spirit of it. Mr. Renzu added that grand parents are assets for every family as they have lot of time and purest of love for the kids. They only can fill them with moral and ethical values. He appreciated the effort of the school to make the society think in the direction that elder people deserve the best of the place and most of the respect in the society. This will definitely groom our society in true colours.
