Steps on to provide free education: Manohar

Jammu, Nov 28-Stressing upon the teaching fraternity to play a vital role in transforming the society by inculcating spirit of responsible attitude among students of the State, Minister for Cooperatives and Finance, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma today said discipline and punctuality are the pre-requisite for successful living.
The Minister was addressing an Annual Day function of a school at Channi Himmat today.
Dr Sharma said that government has initiated several steps to provide free education to the children at their doorstep. He said that schools have been opened in nook and corner of the State to provide quality education to the students.
Appreciating the school management for organising a scintillating cultural programme on the occasion, Dr. Sharma said that extra-curricular activities are a part of academic education and students need to go for sports activities as well. The Minister, later, awarded the meritorious students with trophies and certificates.
