Banihali’s poetry book released in Bhopal | | | AGENCY Bhopal, Nov 28, Noted Jammu and Kashmir based poet Amin Banihali's collection of Urdu poems "Andheron Ka Musafir" was released at a function at Dar-ul-Iqbal Bhopal. Compiler of the book Amin Banjara, who hails from J&K, but chose Bhopal for the release of the book due to his liking of the city and its litterateurs. The release of the maiden collection of Amin Banihali's poetry "Andheron Ka Musafir" was organized jointly by two giant Urdu literary organizations of Bhopal, Dabistan-e-Adab and Karwan-e-Adab. The function was presided over by internationally acclaimed Urdu litterateur Kauser Siddiqui while eminent Urdu writer, journalist and columnist of Daily Nadeem, Arif Aziz was the Chief Guest. Urdu poet and senior journalist of Hindustan Times Muslim Saleem and noted fiction writer, Editor of Daily Bhopal Halchal Javed Yazdani were guests of honour. The book's compiler and publisher Amin Banjara, who is a well known fiction writer, research scholar and critic was also present on the occasion as special guest. In his keynote address, Banjara said that he felt an attachment with Bhopal since long as the city has relation with Kashmir and Alama Iqbal. Bhopal has striking similarities with Jammu & Kashmir since it is also surrounded by hills and has many large lakes like Mansar, Suriansar, Dal and Wullar Lakes of J&K. Besides, Bhopal has also played an important role in the promotion and spread of Urdu like Jammu & Kashmir. Throwing light on Amin Banihali, he said that Banihali is a poet of repute and was also serving Urdu through his literary organization Anjuman-e- Farogh-e-Urdu Jammu, of which he is president. According to Banjara, Amin Banihali is a very good poet, who has been in the thick of adversities through out his life. Apart from facing economic constraints, he lost his eye sight and later only partially recovered it. Even then, he has come out of poetry marked by vast knowledge and sharp observations. Kauser Siddiqui, in his presidential address, described "Andheron Ka Musafir" as an invaluable addition to Urdu literature since his poetry oozes out best of ghazal elements. He said that by compiling and publishing this book, Amin Banjara has not only proved his love and patronage of Urdu, but has also made a good effort to take the popularity of Amin Banihali on the national horizon. He said that Amin Banjara has carved out a place in the heali of Bhopalites especially in the context of Allama Iqbal and Professor Jagan Nath Azad. Chief guest Arif Aziz s lauded Amin Banjara's services to Urdu language and literature and publication of "Andheron Ka Musafir" was one of these commendable efforts. In his speech, Javed Yezdani said that if Amin Banihali continue to write good poetry in the same vein, the day is not far when his name will be known all over India. He also congratulated Amin Banjara not only for compiling and publishing this book but also writing a very bold preface. Muslim Saleem said Amin Banjara holds a special place in Urdu literary circles of the country. He has carved out a unique identity through his works on Iqbal specialist the late. Prof. Jagan Nath Azad and has published several books on him. Muslim Saleem, while describing the release of Amin Banihali' s book in Bhopal as a good omen said that it will bring Urdu Literatures of Jammu and Kashmir and Madhya Pardesh closer. Muslim Saleem said that he was doubly pleased to attend this ceremony since his granduncle Dr. Khalifa Abdul Hakim, who wrote over 300 books, also belonged to Kashmir. Among those who have also lauded "Andheron Ka Musafir" in Bhopal included short story writer Naeem Kausar, Retired Joint Secretary Madhya Pardesh Urdu Academy Iqbal Masood, Historian Aziz Miyan Qazi, Poets Zia Farooqui, Kamil Behzadi, Idris Moonis, Naseem Ansari and Veteran Urdu Journalist Ashfaq Mishhadi Nadvi.
