Top HM ultra killed, another trapped in Kishtwar | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 28: A top Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) militant was today shot dead by security forces in an encounter in Kalamal forests of Chilli in Kishtwar. His accomplice was, however, trapped in the area and troops were hunting for him, according to police sources. Acting on a tip-off about the presence of top HM militants Tousib Ahmed and Imtiaz Hussain, a joint column of police and Rashtriya Rifles launched an operation in the Kalamal forests. While they were combing the woods, the militants opened fire, which was returned, the sources added. In the ensuing exchange of fire, one of them was killed while the other was still trapped in the area. One 7.62mm LMG was recovered from the slain terrorist. Sources said this weapon was believed to be the one which was taken away by HM militants from Chinyas STF post after attacking it in 2006. The two, involved in several incidents of extortion and harassment of locals, were part of the dreaded Gulam Nabi alias Gama group active in the forested areas of Gundoh, Chilli and Patnazi. A hunt was on for the trapped militant, the sources added.
