Moderate Pandits term attack on Separatists a conspiracy to defame community | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 28: The recent attack on moderate Hurriyat Conference leader Moulvi Umer Farooq in Chandigarh by the activists of various Hindu organisations including Kashmiri Pandits has been viewed seriously by some moderate Pandits all across the country who term such attacks a preplanned conspiracy by some vested elements to defame the Pandits and create a further gulf between the majority community in Kahsmir and minority Pandits living in exile. According to sources the moderate Pandits while criticising the Hindu factions in general and the KP activists in particular accused them of trying to stall the return process of the Pandits to Valley initiated by the Central Government. They have apprehensions that such a trend will have serious repercussions on return process. The sources said this faction of Pandits have reportedly been launching a campaign in the community against those elements who are trying to cretate a wedge between the Muslims in Kashmir and Pandits in Jammu asking them to isolate such elements once for all in the larger interests of the community. Sources said that one activist from this moderate faction while condemning the attack on Moulvi Umer Farooq said that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and some factions of separatist organisations have launched a tirade against the community in the valley. This kind of campaigning against the community is slated to harm its interests and create impediments in the return process initiated by the Government, sources added. This is a big conspiracy of some vested elements who want to stall the return process of the Pandits, sources said while quoting one of the leaders of the moderate faction of Pandits. Earlier they attacked hardline faction of Hurriyat in New Delhi. Later another separatist leader Shabir Ahmed Shah was attacked in Jammu and this was followed by attack on Moulvi Omar Farooq. It seems these attacks are the part of a big conspiracy to create a further gulf among the two communities, sources added. However taking on the moderate KPs the activists of Panun Kashmir, All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC), Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC), Kashmir Samiti Delhi (KSD) and Jammu and Kashmir Vichar Manch (JKVM) have fully justified the action of the Hindu organisations who attacked the Hurriyat leader at Chandigarh. The leaders of these organisations said the separatists deserve to be taught a lesson as they have put the state on the path of destruction besides were responsible for the killing of hundreds members of the community and forcing it to lead an exiled life outside the Valley or face death. How can KPs tolerate the separatists and consider them the friends of community. The people who are responsible for our plight should be taught a lesson, said ASKPC leader Bharat Bhushan. He while taking on the so called moderate factions said had they forgotten how this community was forced to pass the days on road side after forcing them to leave the Valley. He also criticised the Government of India for granting the separatists and their friends permission to hold anti India conferences and seminars in different parts of the country.
