| VOJ presents challan against Patwari | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Nov: 29 (JNF):- Vigilance Organization Jammu today presented challan in a trap case against Mohd Sohail Mir then Patwari Halqa Seoura Tehsil Jammu who was caught red-handed on February 16, 2010 while receiving Rs 13000 from the complainant as bribe for the attestation of mutation of land.
According to the facts of the case on February 16, 2010 one Sh. Deepak Choudhary Jammu lodged a written complaint in VOJ alleging that he has purchased land measuring 3 Kanal 12 Marlas at Village Seoura Tehsil & District Jammu. He approached the concerned Patwari namely Mohd Sohail Mir for attestation of mutation of the said land and handed over the photocopy of sale deed along with treasury receipt. The complainant had already paid Rs 5000/- as bribe to the said Patwari on his demand but the said Patwari is further demanding Rs 13000/- as bribe. On the complaint of the complainant FIR was registered u/s 5(1) (d) r/w section 5(2) PC Act 2006 BK and 161 RPC and constituted a trap team and laid a trap in the Digiana and caught red-handed Patwari while accepting bribe amount Rs 13000/- from the complainant and arrested him. Later the Patwari was granted by the Court. After completion of the investigation VOJ today presented challan in the Court of Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu which was transferred to the Additional Sessions Judge Anticorruption Jammu.
