| Governor greets people on Gurupurab | | | JAMMU, NOVEMBER 4- Governor, Lt. Gen (Retd) S K Sinha today greeted the people of the state on the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Devji. In a message, the Governor said that Guru Nanak Devji showed mankind the path of ultimate truth and preached universal brotherhood. His teachings of love, faith in God, tolerance and selfless service have great relevance in this materialistic world. "It should be our endeavor to uphold these ideals and follow the path shown by the Guruji’, General Sinha said, expressing hope that the celebration of the day would provide an occasion to us to rededicate ourselves to the principles of truth, non-violence and humanity preached by the great Guru. He said observing the Gurupurab would be more meaningful if we take time to reflect upon the life and teachings of Guru Nanakji, which apply today more than ever. The Governor hoped the day would be observed in the true spirit of the State’s composite culture and prayed for peace and tranquility in Jammu and Kashmir. |
