Mangat inaugurates health centre at Trikuta Nagar

JAMMU, NOVEMBER 04- Minister for Health and Medical Education Mr. Mangat Ram Sharma inaugurated Urban Training Health Centre (UTHC) at Trikuta Nagar here today.
The Urban Training Health Centre constructed at a cost of Rs. 76 lakh would provide X-ray, OPD and other facilities to the people of the area. Undergraduate and postgraduate training would also be provided to the nursing staff.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sharma asked the doctors to provide best practical training to the trainees. He said that top priority would be given to the centre for ambulance on demand and for providing specialized treatment to the needy patients at GMC. He said that cancer detection and early treatment, cataract operations would also be performed besides heart specialists would be made available to the Health centre for giving training to the junior doctors and treatment to the patients.
MLA Gandhi Nagar Mr. Raman Bhalla said that for the first time public health services have been recognized by the concerned minister. He demanded for Ambulance and post-mortom facility to the Urban Training Health Centre. He said that five tube wells have been given to Trikuta Nagar locality to ease drinking water problem of the area. He said that old worn out pipes have being replaced in Trikuta Nagar, Nanak Nagar and Gandhi Nagar areas.
Principal GMC, Mr Mumtaz Goni thanked the Minister for providing health centre to the inhabitants. She said that no specialized treatment would be provided in the health centre only preliminary treatment would be available.
President Trikuta Welfare Society, Mr. R. D. Gupta thanked Mr. Bhalla for providing funds for the construction of urban training health centre. He also thanked the Minister for inaugurating the health centre.
Corporator Mrs. Santosh Magotra thanked the Minister and the MLA for helping for the hospital.
Among others Director Health Services Mr Jasbir Singh, Dr. Bhupinder Singh and prominent citizens were present on the occasion.
