| CCI chief expresses gratitude to Sofi | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU Nov 30 : President Chamber of Commerce & Industry Y.V. Sharma expressed gratitude to the Chairman, Central Board of Direct Taxes and Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, G.R. Sofi for responding to the demand of tax payers of J&K State by extending the date for filing of returns of Income Tax for the Assessment Year 2010-11 for all categories of cases in the State of Jammu & Kashmir to 31st January 2011.
Accordingly the specified date as prescribed under section 44AB of the Income Tax Act is also extended to January 31, 2011.
Chamber appreciated the proactive administrative approach of the department which has taken into account the turbulent conditions of the region seriously. It imbibes confidence amongst the tax payers.
