| Azad Government’s achievements eye opener for opposition, spokesman | | ‘Rejects BJP’s uncalled for criticism’ | | JAMMU NOV-4 The achievements registered by the Azad led coalition government in the state during just in a year should be an opener for those who have been criticizing the government on filmy charges. The statistics speak itself about the volume of development works initiated in the length and breadth of the State during the past one-year. Sharply rejecting the BJP’s criticism on the working of the Azad led Government, JKPCC Spokesman said that afraid of the popularity of Azad and the support the Congress is getting at the grass root levels, the BJP has returned to its old rhetoric and modes of exploitation in view of its shrinking base in Jammu region. The spokesman said that soon after taking over the reigns of the State administration, Azad led government initiated several bold decisions, which have been acclaimed, by both the friends and the foes across the country. ‘Having left with no other issue and scared of loosing its existence’, the spokesman said the ‘BJP leadership within the state has resorted exploitation of people especially the minorities in the state adding that the party’s support to the Bandh call is devoid of any logic or reasoning. Counseling opposition parties to look into the graph of the achievements of the government, the spokesman said that the State government has achieved many firsts. The measures taken include enacting of laws for confiscation of disproportionate assets of corrupt public servants, strengthening of anti-defection law, restricting the size of council of ministers apart from taking up around 600 development works involving crores of rupees in double shifts and accelerating the pace of development in the entire state. The spokesman said that the creation of eight new districts, setting up of Finance Commission for ensuring equitable development of all the three regions of the state and delimitation of Assembly constituencies are the hall mark of the Government, besides a long list of other achievements. Referring to the issue of PoK and West Pakistan refugees, Ravinder Sharma said that the Government is seized of the problem and has initiated several steps and taken up the matter with the Centre government. He said the refugees and the displaced people should taken up their genuine problems with the government at various levels instead of resorting to demonstrations and bandh call and termed the ‘BJP sympathy with the refugees as a ‘lip service’ adding that the party claiming to be the sympathizers of the refugees should have taken up this issue, when the BJP was in power at the Centre.’
