| 5-yr-old raped at Akhnoor, accused held | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu NOV 30: A five-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a youth at Badyala Chak in Akhnoor last night.
Police sources said the girl had gone along with her parents to attend a marriage function in their neighbourhood at Badyala Chak when she was allegedly abducted by Ashwani Kumar, son of Tirth Ram.
Ashwani took her his home in the village where he allegedly outraged her modesty. He later dropped her at the marriage function with a threat to kill her if she narrated the incident to her parents, the sources added.
After the marriage function, the girl returned home with her parents and went to bed.
However, when she did not get up till late in the morning, her parents found that she had fever. Sources said when the parents removed her to hospital for medical check up, the doctors told them that she had been raped. A report was then lodged with police. When the girl gave police a detailed account of the incident, police arrested Ashwani and booked him in a rape case. |
