EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Dec 01-. Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand, has lauded the police force for bringing improvement in law and order situation besides containing crimes in the State. He called for more friendly approach to improve confidence of people through police- public interface. The Deputy Chief Minister said this while taking salute at the pass-out parade of constables of Basic Recruit Training Course (BRTC) at Kathua today. Advisor to Chief Minister, Mubarak Gul, MLC, Subash Gupta, Director General of Police, Kuldeep Khoda, Additional Director General of Police, M. K. Rajindra, ADGP, Ram Lubiya, Inspector Generals of Police, District Development Commissioner, Kathua, Zahida Khan, SSP, Kathua, Garib Dass, Principal Training School, Ashok Sharma, Police officers of different ranks, District officers, retired police officers and parents of recruits were present on the occasion. The Deputy Chief Minister, asked the police force to accord due respect while implementing law and order in the state. He further said that crime rate in the State is lower that other states of the country due to the efforts of our police force and cooperation of the people. Addressing the gathering, Mubarak Gul congratulated the pass outs on behalf of the Chief Minister and wished them success for future. He hoped that the newly passed out constables will respect their oath and serve the people with dedication and honesty. Khoda said that besides basic training in drill, discipline and order, these constables have been given specialized training in commando, Computer and human rights subjects. Principal, Police Training School (PTS), Ashok Sharma administered oath to the recruits. It is worth while to mention here that 22nd batch of BRTC comprising 1078 trainees hailing from different districts of the state. Sharma apprised that the trainees were exposed to various training modules targeting physical, mental and emotional well being besides were imparted training in outdoor activities, law and order maintenance, special training on crowd control, commando course, Computers and Human rights etc. Later, Mubarak Gul inaugurated a Computer Centre in the premises of Police Training School and an upper sub quarters block in the School.
