| Nationalist Kashmiri Pandit community particularly its youths failed to understand why they are being marginalized, isolated and ignored when they neither expressed their anger on roads by burning buses , government establishments , railway stations nor took law and order in their hands by violating curfew restrictions and pelted stones on security forces and government establishments , which Kashmiri Muslim did. As compared to stone palters of Kashmir Valley, KP youths have big reason and logic to come on streets as they have lost their home , their community brothers ,sisters, leaders and relatives who were brutally murdered in various barbaric massacres in the Valley which include Wandhama (24 ), Sangrampura (7) , Nadimarg (24), also one –two year old babies were muscled and brutally killed. Shaheed Girja was raped and later on chopped on Bandsaw ,Shaheed Prana Ganjoo was raped then chopped into pieces before throwing her in river Jehlum. There are other hundreds of untold stories to highlight and to open the eyes of those who have deliberately ignored the KP community and its youths.
KP community were humiliated by forcing them to leave their homes and hearths ,burnt their houses ,encroached and grabbed their land and property under distress sale .Finally , they were directly or indirectly banned to visit or stay at their birth land in Kashmir Valley under life threat. They were negated from basic rights and services to earn their two time meals . Their voting right was made so complicated by adopting a defective system of voting which virtually deprived them from right of franchise .Their names were either tempered or deleted from voter lists in valley as they were not a part of the Kashmir. Their religious properties including temples are in shambles. Around 200 temples were damaged, destroyed or burnt from the period of last 20 years. Most of their land and property including religious one got encroached and are in deteriorating condition. Despite of all this, KP’s and their youths restricted and restrained themselves for the sake of peace and prosperity of the nation. For showing such quality of control forbearance ,broader vision, understandability of carrying ahead the rich values of their ancestors and exhibiting broad mindedness and exemplary courage to face all jubes, inspite of provocative slogans and pugnacious attitude of the tormentors who choose violent means to create a situation of ignominy calibrated from outside, deserves applaud, appreciation and support of the government.
There were so many CBI probes, commission of inquiries, judicial and magisterial inquiries for the various incidents that took place in valley, whether it was Shopian double murder incident, killings at Sopore or Anantnag and other places, but unfortunately none of the commission of lowest or highest nature was ordered for the grave incidents faced by the KP Community either connected to their survival, existence or their mass exodus.
It is obvious, if government would continue to use its haphazard and unsystematic methods in dealing with isolated KP Community particularly its youths, their aspirations are not heard and take them for granted ,then impressionable KP Youths may be compelled to cut themselves off from their rich cultural roots and provoke them to use violent methods to fight for their rights and demands connected to their survival and existence and one day advise of their leaders, elders and parents may go unheeded , the manner advise and appeal of Separatist leaders and parents in Kashmir valley went unheeded by their youths to stop the violence as they are now beyond the control of any leader or group .
In this background State and Center governments should reconcile with the aspirations of the displaced KP community, particularly its youths and utilize their services to the proper directions in the national building, prosperity and its integrity by placing them at various institutions and other places throughout country. Besides, to restore the confidence and faith of KP community and particularly its youths on the Indian system of governance, let the centre Government appoint interlocutor exclusively for internally displace Kashmiri pandit to meet the KP Youths and their leadership, while treating them principal party of Kashmir issue and first victim of militancy, in order to know their pain , problems and demands to get mitigated. Their participation would definitely pave the way to find out the viable solution of Kashmir issue created by the section of separatists and pseudo secularists of Kashmir valley. An independent commission of inquiry is also needed to probe the human rights violations of victim KP community, detailed action taken reports in case of those got killed since 1989-90 by the militants .Most importantly, KP youths who were recently appointed and posted in Kashmir valley under draconian law needs to be posted in safer zones of Jammu region. Also youths of KP community to be given age relaxation of at least 7 years and settlement amount of Rs. 25 Lacs to each overage youth beyond 7 year age relaxation period. Their relief needs to be enhanced upto the amount of Rs. 10,000 and allotment of new accommodations as per their need and convenience. Jagati quarters to be allotted to the needy migrants including widows as per the Government approved shape, space & structure without further delay. Much delayed KP Shrine bill to be passed in the State Assembly at the earliest to protect the temples , shrines and other religious Institutions. Besides, distress sale of Kashmiri Pandit property after their displacement to be declared null and void. The overall empowerment of KP Community to be made to restore their lost credibility, honor and dignity.
Rehabilitation of Pak trained Kashmiri Militants, removal of Bankers in the valley, particularly in Srinagar, Kashmir is a Himalayan blunder which could proved counter productive, in future, hence is being strongly condemned. The Politically motivated statement of J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah at the floor of state assembly about Kashmir accession angered and annoyed the nationalist KP’s and particularly its youths needs to be neutralized either by taking the statement back or stern action to be taken by Hon’ble Governor of the state and Centre Government. The genuine demand of consolidated rehabilitation of KP community at the “Land of Kashyap” to allow them to live together as community and proud citizens of India under free flow of Indian Constitution to be granted at the earliest which is the basic demand of Kashmiri Pandit Community.
At the conclude, Kashmiri Pandits have resolved that Kashmir is integral part of India and its accession is full and final .Anyone challenging it, should be treated as traitor and liable for action under law of land. |
