| Army initiates AIDS awareness in Rajouri | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, Dec 2: Army General Hospital, Rajouri under the aegis of Ace of Spades Division, organized a symposium & exhibition at Post Graduate College Rajouri to commemorate the celebration of World AIDS day. The aim of organizing the symposium & exhibition was to spread awareness about AIDS, mode of transmission of Human Immuno Deficiency Virus (HIV) & its prevention amongst the youth of the area.
A team of doctors from 150 General Hospital conducted the symposium at College Central Hall. The symposium covered the aspects of prevalence of HIV & AIDS in the world & India in particular, importance of celebrating World AIDS day, stages of HIV, modes of transmission of HIV, various methods of testing HIV, treatment & post-exposure prophylaxis, HIV risk & its prevention. More than 350 students from the Post Graduate College, Rajouri attended the symposium. The faculty of the College led by the principal Sabir Shah provided support for the event. The symposium had an overwhelming response which was evident by an interesting interactive question answer session with the students.
The exhibition organized in the playground contained charts, banners, brochures & pamphlets containing vital information about HIV & AIDS. The exhibition was also a grand success & more than 750 college students visited & benefitted from the same. The college authorities have appreciated the initiative and efforts taken by Army to provide such vital information to students of this area. |
