Rehab policy a step towards permanent peace: NC leader | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT BANIHAL , Dec 2: Terming rehabilitation policy a positive step to restore permanent peace and stability in the state, National Conference leader and contested candidate from Banihal Sajjad Shaheen said that the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah's rehabilitation policy for youth who have crossed to other part of Kashmir and now wish to return back is a landmark decision and will pave a way for restoration of permanent peace in not only the state but the country as well. He said that a number of youths who had gone across the border to get arms training have realized that nothing could be achieved through violence and bloodshed except destruction and want to return back and integrate into the mainstream. Lambasting BJP for playing communal and regional politics by making hue and cry over rehabilitation policy, he said that BJP is trying to exploit the sentiments of the people for its petty political gains. Criticizing BJP leader Ashok Khajuria for his immature statement calling for social boycott of Jammu people with the Chief Minister and his Ministers, Shaheen said that neither Khajuria nor does his party represent whole of Jammu province as they are only confined to a small area of Jammu province. Shaheen said that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah does not need lessons from people like Khajuria as Omar Abdullah is a mature leader with absolute integrity and credibility and is wise enough to run the affairs of the state at his own. |
