| Pinto Club girls, Gho Brahmana boys win titles | | |

JAMMU, Dec 2: Pinto Volleyball Club clinched the girls' title while Gho Brahmana Club emerged winner in boys section in the two-day Jammu District Volleyball Championship that concluded at MA Stadium, here today.
In the girls' final, represented mostly by the BPEd students of University of Jammu, Pinto Club trounced Shastri Club in straight sets 25-13, 25-18. Arti Sharma and Shazia played well for the winners. Later, in boys' title clash, Volleyball Club Gho Brahmana trounced equally good Pallanwala Club 3-1. Winning the hard fought opening extended sets of 32-30, 26-24, Gho Brahmana lost third in a neck to neck contest 23-25. However, the energetic side of Gho Brahmana controlled their nerves and clinched the fourth set 25-23 and match also. The score: 32-30, 26-26, 23-25, 25-23. Raghu and Dushyant played exceptional game for the winners Gho Brahmana. In the finals and prize distribution function, Superintendent of J&K Police, Headquarters Jammu, JS Johar was chief guest, who gave away prizes to the winners and runners up teams. President of Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir, Raj Daluja was guest of honour. |
