In this three-day competition, seven states and two departmental teams expected to participate. This was stated by the Minister for Sports, RS Chib in a press conference held here this afternoon. Chib, who otherwise has nothing to do with the Association, all of a sudden came to the rescue of `disputed' body along with his two senior officers highlighting the achievements state has made in the game. Flanked by Secretary Youth Affairs, Sports and Technical Education, BA Runyal and Director General Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), Shamim Leharwal, Minister treated himself as someone above internal disputes within the sports bodies. Surprisingly, neither president of the J&K Taekwondo Association, PC Sharma and organizing secretary of the North Zone event, DN Pangotra were allowed to speak anything about the championship. The competition as per the Minister shall be declared open at 4 pm tomorrow at MA Stadium.
