Employment fair held | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Dec 2: A three day employment fair was organized at Hr. Sec. School, Banihal from November 29 to December 1 by Asstt. Director Employment, Ramban in co-ordination with other line departments and commercial banks. During the employment fair the public in general and educated unemployed youth in particular were made aware of various programmes and schemes for self employment. The concluding function was presided over by Shabir Ahmad Bhat, District Dev. Commissioner, Ramban, who in his address laid stress for organizing such programmes regularly in various parts of the district so that the educated unemployed youth and other persons are able to take benefit of self employment programmes like Sher-e-Kashmir Employment and Welfare Programmes for Youth. He also directed the departments to make concerted efforts for implementation of various programmes like SGSY, Prime Ministers Employment Generation Programmes, etc. Earlier Asstt. Director Employment, Ramban, Mohd. Amin gave a resume of various awareness and cultural programmes organized during employment fair. He also stated that during current year there is target of establishing 110 units by the educated unemployed youth under the said scheme and also stated that about 100 educated unemployed youth are availing benefits of Voluntary Service Allowance under which Rs.600/- to Rs.1250/- are provided to the educated unemployed youth in the age group of 26 years to 37 years, depending on their qualification and subject to the income ceiling of Rs.1.50 lakhs per annum of the family of the candidate. A cultural programme was also organized on this occasion which was attended by a large number of people from Banihal town and adjoining areas. |
