Parvez, Aditya powers J&K to 30 runs lead | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, December 03: Sailing on brilliant innings played by young guns, Parvez Rasool and Aditya Pratap Singh, Jammu and Kashmir today managed a 30 runs second innings lead against Andhra Pradesh in the ongoing Ranji Trophy Plate Group-B league tie at GGM Science College Hostel Ground, here. At the end of day three play, hosts J&K were playing at a score of 153 for five in 42 overs with Parvez and Aditya building a strong partnership. Pushing the J&K from struggling 60 for five, both these young batsmen have already added 93 runs for the sixth wicket partnership. Contrary to Aditya, Parvez never looked tense at the crease and hit the Andhra bowlers hard to ease out pressure. In his 84-ball 68 runs, Parvez hit nine boundaries and two sixes. However, Aditya played patient innings playing at 39. Out of form, vice-captain and opener, Aditya Pradesh flopped yet again and went to the pavilion without opening his account. However, wicket-keeper batsman, Arshad Bhat contributed valuable 22 runs. Other three outgoing batsmen could not touch the double figure mark. Earlier, to the dismay of J&K bowlers, Andhra Pradesh managed a big total of 376 runs in the first innings. Resuming their innings from overnight score of 219 for six, Andhra added quick runs to bring the total to a commanding position. Playing at 52, B Sumanth completed his century making 135 runs studded with 19 boundaries while skipper, KS Sahabuddin made 71 runs thereby adding 172 runs for the seventh wicket partnership. Abid Nabi was most successful bowler who clinched four wickets for 40 runs.
