Atman Premier League T20 from Dec 5 | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, December 03: A team of police officers of J&K Police and advocates of Jammu district has decided to organize Atman Premier League T20 Cricket Cup Tournament at MA Stadium, here from December five. “The six departmental teams taking part in this event are Director General of Police (DGP) XI, Bar President XI, Directorate of Health Services XI, Engineers XI, Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) XI and Vice Chancellor (JU) XI,” said organizing secretary of the tournament and former Ranji player, Rajesh Gill, here today. Last year the tournament titled `Estancia Cup’ was won by Bar President XI beating DGP XI in the final at University of Jammu grounds. “However, this time two more teams have been added into this league-cum-knock out competition. These are DYSS XI and VC XI,” informed Gill. Two matches have been scheduled for the opening day i.e Sunday. In the first match, VC XI shall take on Engineers XI at 10 am, followed by second game between DGP XI and Directorate of Health Services XI at 2 pm. “The tournament shall be declared open by Inspector General of J&K Police, Jammu, Ashok Gupta at 10 am. The competition shall be played only on week ends and the first league round will be followed by the semi-finals and final,” disclosed member of the organizing committee, Harminder Singh. The organizing committee of the tournament included Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of J&K Police, Alok Puri, senior advocate, Sunil Sethi, Senior Prosecuting Officer, Harminder Singh and advocate, Ravi Dogra.
