Life normal in Kashmir, no curfew or restrictions | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, Dec 3: The Hurriyat Conference’s appeal to the people to hold demonstrations after Friday prayers evoked no response as the life remained normal throughout the Kashmir valley. According to a police spokesman the situation in the Kashmir valley was by and large peaceful since last night. He said there was no curfew or any other restrictions in any part of the valley. The Hurriyat Conference, which is spearheading the agitation in Kashmir since July this year, has asked people to hold peaceful demonstrations in their respective areas against alleged human rights violations, continued detention of separatist leaders and those held for alleged stone pelting. There are also no restrictions around the historic Jamia masjid, where no Friday prayers could be offered on November 26 because of curfew in the areas under five police stations in the downtown and other parts of the city. Shops and business establishments remained open and traffic on all routes was normal.
