| Govt appears only on papers, peoples’ woes mounting on grounds: PDP | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Hiranagar, December 3:Ridiculing claims of the State Government to get first position in health services and implementation of rural development schemes, Peoples Democratic Party general secretary Thakur Balbir Singh today said that achievements of National Conference led government appears only on papers while on ground this regime has lost credibility of the people.
Addressing series of public meetings in Hiranagar areas which fall under Billawar assembly segment, Thakur Balbir Singh expressed surprise that government has been brazenly indulged in self praise and claiming that the State has been adjudged as best in providing health facilities and implementing schemes meant for the development of rural areas. “Such claims of the government are nothing but a cruel joke with the people of the state who have been bearing brunt of the mis-goverance of Omar Abdullah led government”, he said and pointed out that revolutionary MNREGA scheme has become defunct in the State due to politicization of this scheme.
Exhorting the party workers to expose misdeeds of this regime, Thakur Balbir Singh regretted that National Conference has not learnt any lessons from its past mistake. He pointed out that promises made by the National Conference during the assembly elections remained only on papers. “Instead of fulfilling the commitment which the NC had made with the people during assembly elections, this government has been deceiving the people by making false statements”, he said and added that people were now comparing achievements of PDP led regime with present dispensation.
