| Chib inaugurates entrepreneurship development programme | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, DECEMBER 03 – Minister for Medical and Technical Education, Mr. R. S. Chib today inaugurated entrepreneurship Development Programme at ITI Jammu.
Addressing the function,. Chib said that the government has taken several steps to educate the youth about the importance of micro, small and medium industries and motivation programmes are being organized for youth to establish their own enterprise after undergoing proper training programme for the purpose.
He said that around 24 trainees from different disciplines both from Government Women ITI Jammu and Government Polytechnic for Boys Jammu have been made aware about the concept of Entrepreneurship and developing its skills in them to create opportunities of self-employment to counter the problem of unemployment in the society.
The Minister said that the students of ITI and Polytechnic colleges of the State are producing professionals in various disciplines and steps are afoot to replace old courses with new and latest ones so that they can compete with other students at national and international level.
He said placement of the youth, with proficiency in various fields is also going on simultaneously following their training in the technical colleges of the state.
The function was attended by Secretary Technical Education, Mr. B. A. Runiyal, Director Technical Education, Mr. A. K. Sahu, Director Union Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSMEDI), Mr. Varinder Sharma, Superintendent ITI for Women, Mr. Ravi Gupta and Principal ITI for Boys Jammu, Mr. M. I. Kohli.
The programme will conclude on December 16.
