| Nirvana Academy organizes prize distribution function | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Dec 3:Nirvana Academy organized a prize distribution function for Pandit Uma Dutt Sangeet Mahotsav at K L Saigal Hall here today.
Pandit Mangat Ram Sharma, ex Deputy Chief Minister of J&K state was the chief guest on the occasion.
Programme started with a musical competition, in which 25 participants from rural areas of various districts of J&K participated. Programme categorized into different categories of music like folk song and instrumental, classical song and instrumental, light song and instrumental to promote music among the young talented musicians and children of Jammu. A special musical performance performed by “SAPTAK” the first ever instrumental band of J&K. Performance includes Pahari music, fusion of classical based songs on santoor, sarood, tabla and guitar.
Hitesh Badyal, President Nirvana Academy said that Nirvana Academy is playing pivotal role to promote classical, pahari and folk music among the youngsters.
