JMUK conducts door to door campaign

JAMMU, Dec 3: To mark world AIDS day on November 1 and international anti-Pollution day on November 2, Jagriti Mahila Udyog Kendra, an NGO conducted door to door campaign in Vijaypur and Bishnah blocks of Samba district.
President of the NGO Veena Bakshi alongwith five executive members of the organization visited villages during two days and distributed literature among villagers about the menace of AIDS and precautions to be taken against its infection and its spread. Volunteers also distributed literature regarding sanitation and prevention of pollution, explaining the meanings of the same.
In their tour, they were accompanied by volunteers from the respective villages as well as some sarpanches and panches. Veena Bakshi exhorted the women folk to take active part in the drive against AIDS and pollution. She laid stress on personal sanitation and cleanlineness as well as keeping the surroundings clean and pollution free.
