Awareness campaign-cum-workshop held

JAMMU, Dec 3: Jay Kay Women Welfare Society (JKWWS) Jammu organized an awareness campaign and workshop on save the girl child here at Village Bhadurpur in Bishnah tehsil here today.
Aim of campaign-cum-Workshop was to educate masses about ways to eradicate social stigma from the society. On the occasion Sarpanch of the village Kartar Chand was the Chief Guest while Bua Ditta presided over. Resource persons of the workshop, while interacting with the inhabitants of the village threw light on the present scenario of the female feticide.
Kartar Chand in his address said that there is an urgent need to prevent this unethical practice by talking some drastic steps. Bua Ditta also spoke and shared his views about this practice. Besides the villagers, students of the primary school, Bhadurpur, prominent social worker also attended the programme. Earlier Dr. Sudhir Mahajan while welcoming the guests explained aims and objectives of the JKWWS Munish Sharma present vote of thanks.
