Asian medalist Ravinder felicitated at Katra | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, December 04: International wrestler, Ravinder Singh Sangwan of Haryana, who won bronze medal in the recently held 16th Asian Games in China, was felicitated by the J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association during his visit to the holy town of Katra, near here. Ravinder, who also bagged gold in the Delhi Commonwealth Games, visited the shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi along with his wife, Sapna to seek blessings. Soon after his arrival, the top wrestler of the country was garlanded by the members of the Association led by president, Shiv Kumar Sharma at Hotel Basera. Later, a felicitation function was organised wherein Ravinder’s achievements were highlighted. National Champion for the last 10 years, Ravinder was glad to see a lot of people gathered at his reception. He expressed his thanks to the J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association for the honour bestowed on him. “In all, this Indian wrestler has won 41 medals including 31 gold at the international and national level. He has represented the country at the international level for 40 times and won 15 medals including, seven gold and three silver,” informed Shiv Kumar Sharma.
