Communal infected separatism, semi-separatism root cause of all problems: BJP | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Dec 4: In Kashmir, communal infected separatism and semi-separatism are the root cause for many problems including discrimination against Jammu and Ladakh as also despotic functioning of the ruling leaders during all these years. These observations were made by the leader of the BJP Legislative Party, Chaman Lal Gupta while addressing a large gathering before burning the effigy of the Chief Minister near the Science College here as part of the second phase of their agitation against the controversial utterances of Omar Abdullah on the issue of accession and also to protest against the adoption of policy for return and rehabilitation of the ultras from Pakistan/PoK, in addition to the continued discrimination against Jammu and Ladakh regions. The police tried to obstruct the demonstration and attempted to snatch the effigy resulting in tussle between the demonstrators and the police. In this police action there was road block for about an hour and big traffic jam. Addressing the gathering, Gupta said that the accession of Jammu and Kashmir with Indian Union is legally and constitutionally a settled fact but it was unfortunate that the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has termed it a "dispute" and certain dubious moves of the Congress-NC are fraught with highly dangerous potentialities for security of the state as also the unity of the country. Referring to the latest statement of the chief minister that Panchayats can play a major role in checking the corruption and malpractices, Gupta questioned that where are the Panchayats and how they can be empowered without the extension of 73rd and 74th Amendments of the Indian Constitution. “Because of their being infected by communal virus, the ruling leaders are trying to distancing this state from rest of India and taking advantage of Article-370, granting separate status to Jammu and Kashmir, the leaders of the NC and their supporters in the Congress, the whole functioning of the basic democracies have been made a mockery in this part of the country,” said Gupta. Accusing the NC and Congress of being responsible for discrimination against Jammu and Ladakh, Gupta said that the dissenting note of the two members out of the Government appointed four members Finance Commission is quite significant and have vindicated our charges of perpetrating of discrimination against Jammu and Ladakh by the respective governments of these two parties. The BJP leader further alleged that having their communal mindset and despotic approach the people of Jammu have been virtually enslaved politically. The biggest proof of it was the denial of due share to these regions in the State Assembly as also in the Lok Sabha and then putting an embargo that there would be no delimitation of the Assembly Constituencies till 2026. It is height of an injustice of these leaders of the coalition, especially the Congress which had made so many promises to rectify all these wrongs even in their manifesto at the time of 2008 Assembly elections but did nothing. Gupta said that it was amazing that ignoring all the reports of the commission and facts surfacing quite often, the leaders of the Congress and their allies still continue parroting that they are extending equal treatment to all the regions of the state. The demonstration was also addressed and attended by the prominent activists of the party including Surinder Sharma, Shilpi Verma, Parmodh Kapahi, Chander Mohan Sharma, Rajesh Gupta, Munish Sharma, Sakina Bano, Murari Lal, Sanjay Baru, Munish Khajuria, Pushpa Wazir, Rakesh Gupta, Chander Mohan Gupta, N.D. Rajwal, Parshant Puri, Vimla Devi, Krishan Lal Gupta, Ayodhya Gupta, Kulbushan Mahotra, Ravi Mehra, Munish Gupta, Keshav Chopra, Makson Tickoo, Atul Suri, Rajesh, Tarun Sharma, Sumit Singh, Ashish Sharma and others
