| Academy releases ‘Khushbuon Ka Safar’ | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Dec 4:Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages released the Hindi translation of Syed Rasul Pompur’s critically acclaimed book, “Khushbuon Ka Safar” in a specially organised function.
Speaking on the occasion secretary Cultural Academy, Zafar Iqbal Manhas said that publications like Pompur’s book were needed by the present generation of readers.
“In modern times we need publications like ‘Khushbuon Ka Safar’ as they broaden our understanding of the contemporary times,” Zafar said.
In his address, noted socio-cultural historian and former secretary of the Cultural Academy, Mohammed Yousuf Taing said he was appreciative of the work of the writer.
“Rasul Pompur’s book is a good read. I like his style of writing,” Taing said.
On the occasion Sahitya Akademi award winning academic, Shyam Bihari read a paper chronicling the different aspects that are dealt with in the book.
The function was attended by many noted personalities like Jitender Udhampuri, Kanwal Kashmiri, MK Santoshi, Sham Lal Raina, Prof. Shiv Nirmohi and ND Jamwal among others.
‘Khushbuon Ka Safar’ has been edited by MK Santoshi. The release function of the book was supervised by editor Hindi, Neeru Sharma who also conducted the programme proceedings.
