| Seminar on AIDS organized | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Samba, Dec 4: In connection with the observance of World AIDS Day, the Kathua unit of Directorate of Field Publicity, (DFP), Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India in collaboration with ICDS Project, Vijaypur organized an Inter Zonal Seminar at the Office premises of Child Development Project Officer (CDPO), Vijaypur today.
The topic of the Seminar was “Know AIDS for No AIDS, Stigma & Discrimination”
Six Anganwari workers drawn from various Anganwadi centers of the Project participated in the Seminar and elaborated their views regarding the dreaded and rapidly growing disease of AIDS. Meanwhile, film shows on AIDS were also shown and a Photo exhibition specially designed on the subject was also exhibited to aware the fairer gender about the AIDS.
The function was presided over by CDPO, Vijaypur Reetu Mahajan, whereas Publicity Officer, DFP, Kathua Gulshan Raina was the Chief Guest on this occasion.
The main aim of the programme was to sensitize Anganwadi workers and helpers about AIDS, which has cast its shadow in the state of Jammu and Kashmir too. While speaking on the occasion, Publicity Officer Gulshan Raina underlined the need of awareness about the rapidly growing disease of AIDS. Raina called upon the sections of the society to contribute their bit in eradicating the dreaded disease of AIDS.
Addressing the gathering, CDPO Samba, Reetu Mahajan appreciated the efforts of DFP for organizing such informative and important programmes for rural masses and demanded more such programmes in the future for the awareness of Anganwari workers and helpers so that they would be able to make aware the local populace.
