| Workshop on disability rights held | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
UDHAMPUR, DECEMBER 04 – To mark the disability day, Tehsil Legal Services Committee, organized a workshop on the rights of disabled persons in District Court Complex, Udhampur here today.
Principal District and Session Judge, Udhampur, A. K.Sharma informed the participants that such occasions give us opportunity to express solidarity with the disabled people. He further said that deformity in one’s physical or mental capability is the worst that befall on a person during his life time. He referred to articles 41 and 46 of the Constitution of India, which provides for development of the disabled community.
Resource person in the workshop, Advocate Ajay Bandral informed the participants about the provisions of J&K persons with disabilities( Equal Opportunities, Protection of rights and full participants) Act, 1998, which provides for education, employment and creation of barrier free environment to disabled persons.
Judicial Officers and members of Bar Association Udhampur attended the workshop.
