Explore hidden talent of students: Harsh Dev

UDHAMPUR, DECEMBER 04 - Highlighting the importance of co-curricular activities in educational institutions, the MLA Ramnagar, Harsh Dev Singh has said that sincere efforts be put into place to explore the hidden talent of the students which could help to make them competent enough to compete at different foras for their all-round personality development.
Singh, who was the chief guest at an Annual Day function, of Government Higher Secondary School, Ramnagar, complimented the school management for organizing the annual function.
Admitting that the teachers have the onus to play a pivotal role in the society to shape the future of students, the MLA urged upon the teachers to put in their sincere and dedicated efforts in imparting quality education to students based on moral values to make them a perfect and responsible citizen of the nation.
Harsh Dev Singh informed that 100 schools of the Ramnagar constituency are being covered under Total Sanitation Campaign (TSC) within next three months to improve the sanitary conditions of the educational institutions. He also announced Rs 5 lakhs out of Constituency Development Fund (CDF) for the construction of spectators stand and a room in Higher Secondary School, Ramnagar.
The chief guest also distributed prizes among the outstanding students of the school. The students also presented a colourful cultural programme which was highly appreciated by the audience.
Chief Education Officer, Udhampur, SDM Basantgarh and Tehsildar, Ramnagar were also present on the occasion. Principal of GHSS Ramnagar, J.M. Tharmatt gave a resume of the activities of his school.
Later, the MLA inaugurated Targan bridge constructed at cost of over Rs 2.29 crore, Executed by PWD, the bridge would ensure road connectivity to nearly 8000 souls of Dalan, Plasan, Dhiran etc. He also inaugurated Saloh nallah bridge constructed by the PWD at a cost of Rs 1.59 crore approximately benefiting 15000 population of hilly and remote areas.
