KVK holds 4th SAC meeting | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 4: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Doda of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Science and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J) organized 4th scientific advisory committee (SAC) meeting at Dak Bungalow in Bhaderwah. Meeting was chaired by Director Extension Education, SKUAST-Jammu Dr. K. S. Risam wherein scientists of the university, District Officers from of the state agriculture and allied departments and two progressive farm women of the Doda district participated. Dr. R. S. Bandral, Member Secretary of SAC and Programme Coordinator formally welcomed chairperson and invitees of the meeting. He presented action taken report on the recommendations of 3rd SAC meeting, the activities of the KVK taken up by KVK scientists during the current year and Action Plan for the forthcoming year framed for the farming community of the district for approval of the members. Members suggested incorporating training programmes as per the thematic areas of the district. Keeping in view the topography of the district, Divisional Forest Officer, Bhaderwah BA Shah suggested including in-service training programme on soil conservation in the Action Plan. In his address, Dr. K. S. Risam emphasized the need of bridging the knowledge gap of farmers through activities of KVK. Occasion was also graced by Dr. Pramod Baru, Assoc. Director, Extension Education, SKUAST-Jammu and Dr. R M Sharma, Incharge, RHRSS. Other officers present in the meeting were M L Sharma, Gulam Shekh, RK Koul, Ashraf Beig and Dr AC Bhagat.
