DSP sustains burns as effigy goes up in flames

JAMMU, Dec 04: In protest against the rehabilitation policy of the Pak-based militants of J&K, BJP workers today burnt the effigy of state and central governments at the main Bari Brahmana crossing.While trying to beat the flames along with other cops, the Bari
Brahmana SDPO, DSP Naresh Singh sustained minor burns in hands, police sources said.
As the workers set ablaze the effigy amid raising of anti-government slogans, cops reached the spot and did not allow them to block the road.
Sources said when the effigy fell in the middle of the road, cops
tried to extinguish the fire by beating the flames. While attempting to do so, the DSP sustained minor burns in hands, the sources added.
The BJP workers later dispersed peacefully.
