No concrete action on corruption: JKUM | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Dec 5: Jammu Kashmir Utthan Manch (JKUM) reiterated that the Government policies on the rural upliftment were not reconciled with what was being stated and declared through various charters and declarations of the stake holders. Addressing media persons here today, JKUM chief patron K P Sharma stressed that there was no concrete actions on corruption which is weakening whole economy and impacts directly on rural upliftment. He was talking about the recent nomination of members of the Kisaan Board, where group stressed to nominate True Kisaans/Agriculturists so that the Agriculture Production is taken to new records. He also warned the Government to stop illegal conversion of Agriculture Land to Commercial Pockets. He requested the high commands of the Police to critically analyze the role of the Police specially the DSPs & SPs to deal with the public with their Officer Like Qualities and not like Orderlies. Sharma asked the Government to implement the Right to Education Act-2009 in the state of the J&K without any material change in the Provisions of the Act like other Acts which were implemented in the state like “Motor Vehicle Act-1988’. He warned the Government if Right to Education Act-2009 is not implemented as it is, he is going to write to the Government of India to stop the Grant-In-Aid for the entire Sarv-Shiksha-Abhiyan and the State Government shall be held Accountable for this. He also asked Government to look at the Rural Infrastructure like Schools, Panchayat-ghars, Primary Health Centers, CICs and Roads.
