JAMMU, December 05: In a well contested opening match of the super league round in senior division, Young Rovers held Jammu Sports-A to a 2-2 draw at GGM Science College ground, here today.
Taking first lead in the 15th minute through Ankush, Young Rovers remained 1-0 up in the first half. However, after the breather, fighting Jammu Sports brought in equalizer when Tuffy netted the ball in the 45th minute.
Leveled at 1-1, both sides fought for the lead making all out efforts to break each others defense. It was Young Rovers, who again went ahead scoring in the 65th minute. However, the lead lasted for just two minutes as Jammu Sports-A equalized the score netting the ball in the very next move in the 67th minute.
Meanwhile, in second match of the day, Churchill Brothers defeated Mussa Club by a solitary goal. Adonish Mattoo scored the all important goal in the 15th minute.
Today’s matches were officiated by Suresh Gupta, Sohan Lal, Rakesh Kumar and Mohan Lal.
FIXTURE: Mussa Club shall face Vijay Club at 1 pm, followed by the tie between Young Hero and Young Rovers at 3 pm tomorrow.
