| Army constructs sports facility at HSS Harmen | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Dec 5: 62 Rashtriya Rifles (DOGRA) of Army in efforts to reach out to the masses local populace and furthering the effort to meet the aspirations of the youth of remote areas constructed a basket ball court under Operation Sadhbhavana at Higher Secondary School, Harmen.
The purpose of constructing this court in remote area is to inculcate feeling of sportsmanship among the local youth and harness young talent towards achieving greater heights in field of sports. The facility was inaugurated by Officiating Commander, 2 Sector Rashtriya Rifles and other civil dignitaries.
The young children were very enthusiastic on the occasion and could barely resist themselves from diving into the court and start the local NBA tournament. The parents and teacher expressed their gratitude to Army for providing such wonderful sports facility under Operation Sadhbhavana and in the end locals promised to utilise this facility to full and contribute towards advancement of this game in Kashmir Valley. The School staff also requested the chief guest for projecting their demand for Science lab which was agreed to by the Army.
