“I wish to visit Anarkali for listening mujra” | Geelani’s legs are in grave: Farooq | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 5: Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Dr. Farooq Abdullah has renewed his challenge to Syed Ali Shah Geelani who heads the hardliners among the Kashmiri separatists, making claims of liberating Kashmir. Addressing a function in New Delhi on Saturday, Dr Farooq favoured restoration of peace between India and Pakistan. He added "I would love to go to Anarkali to listen to mujra and old classical songs of Noor Jehan while chewing a Paan." He stated that he would not be able to fulfill his wish adding "but I know I cannot go because Hurriyat leaders like Syed Ali Shah Geelani won't let peace prevail." Taking a dig at Geelani, Farooq said "they say they will win Kashmir. I don't know how Geelani can get victory when his legs are already in the grave." He blamed even the diplomats from New Delhi who keep on goading people like Geelani to keep their struggle on. He said that Geelani enjoys entertaining these diplomats from New Delhi. He has been hearing their advice on "Keep doing what you are doing. Union Minister said that these diplomats and the separatists have made Kashmir a theater of tragedies. Farooq Abdullah, who heads National Conference, blamed the super powers especially America and China for keeping disputes alive. He said that if the USA and China wish they can bring about peace in the world but why should they do it when they know that in that case there would be no buyer for their weapons, tanks and fighter planes. He also accused Pakistani Army formulating any move aimed at resolving the Kashmir issue. He said that the Pakistani Army wants an enemy end hence tries to thwart any attempt at settling the Kashmir issue. Farooq's outbursts over the separatists in Kashmir and Pakistan run counter to the stand being taken by his son, Omar Abdullah, who heads a coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir. While Omar is for a dialogue with Islamabad and the separatists for resolving bilateral problems including Kashmir Farooq wants an offensive launched against the Kashmiri separatists
