| 8 injured as PDP, NC workers clash | | | Pulwama, Nov 05 : At least eight persons were injured, one of them critically, when activists of Peoples Democratic Party and National Conference clashed over the location of proposed construction of a school building at village Gousoo in Pulwama district of South Kashmir. Reports reaching here revealed that inhabitants of village Gousoo had called a meeting in the village to decide over the construction site of a proposed school building in the area. As the meeting progressed the activists of National Conference suggested the location where the school building should be constructed. “However, the activists of PDP objected to this and proposed another site for the school building”, a villager told News Agency of Kashmir adding, “The heated argument between the two sides led to a violent clash”. At least eight persons were injured in the clash, reports said adding one of the critically injured villagers, Manzoor Ahmed, was later shifted to Srinagar. Station House Officer Pulwama Farooq Bhat immediately rushed to the spot to take stock of the situation. Sources said that two counter FIRs No 401 and 402 have been lodged in the concerned police station. |
