EARLY TIMES REPORT POONCH, December 06: Gagan clinched the junior boys’ singles title beating Gurjot Singh in the final of ongoing District Poonch Table Tennis Championship, organised by district association, here today. Playing confidently against an equally good opponent, Gagan clinched the final 3-1 (12-10, 11-09, 09-11, 11-08. Earlier, in the semi-finals, Gagan beat Mohit 12-10, 11-06, 11-09 while Gurjot downed Shivam in straight sets of 11-06, 11-09, 11-09. Results (preliminary round): Mohit bt Piyush 11-09; Parupkar bt Sourav 11-8, 7-11, 11-9; Gagan bt Muneeb 11-9,11-9; Prabjot bt Simar 11-9,11-8; Gagan bt Parupkar 11-6,11-7; Mohit got walkover; Gagan bt Prabjot 11-9,11-8; Gurjot bt Irfan 11-2,11-9. Meanwhile, in men’s singles, first round, Narinder Singh, Sandeep Luthra and Jagjit Singh won their respective matches.
