Scholars deliberate upon Modern Tools in Applied Statistics | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Dec 6: On the third day of the 4-day long National Workshop on Modern Tools In Applied Statistics organized by the PG Department of Statistics, University of Jammu, a wide range of deliberations were held wherein scholars expressed their view points. While speaking on the occasion Prof S S Handa, ISI Delhi advocated the application of tools for Statistical Quality Control and concept of 6-sigma. Prof K Muralidharan from M S University Vadodra disseminated the success story for total quality management with applications of Statistics. Prof Tirupati Rao, S V University Tirupati advocated the scientific methods for selection of sample size for carrying out efficient sample surveys. In the evening session Dr Amitava Mukherjee from Aalto University, Finland spoke on the applications of Sequential Statistical methods and projected their applications in the field of Bio-pharmaceuticals, Quality Control and data mining. In the evening the participants were taken to the famous Raghunath Temple and the heritage Raghunath Bazaar.
