Army organises education-cum-motivation tour | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Dec 6: A Rashtriya Rifles Battalion under the aegis of Counter Insurgency Force (Delta) has organized an education-cum-motivational tour for students of backward and remote areas of Doda District to Pune, Mumbai, Daman & Diu under “Operation Sadhbhavana”. The 15-day long tour gets underway today. These bright children have displayed a keen interest in going for this tour and are very anxious to learn more about the country. A total of 23 children and two teachers have been selected for the Education-cum-Motivation tour. The tour was flagged off by, Sector Commander Rashtriya Rifles in presence of other officers and a large number of civilian dignitaries and parents of the children, on 06 December 2010 from Tourist Reception Centre, Bhaderwah. During the tour, the students will visit National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla, Osho Museum, Singarh Fort, Mahatma Phule Museum, Aga Khan Palace in Pune. In Mumbai, the children will visit INS Vikrant Museum, Nehru Planetorium, Haji Ali Masjid, Hanging Garden, Zoo, Elephanta Caves and Choupati Beach. These children will also get an opportunity to meet and interact with the Governor of Maharashtra, K Shankar Narayanan. The tour will subsequently move to Daman where they will visit Fort Moti Daman, Kadiaya Lake Garden, Bom Jesus Church and Jampore Beach. At Diu the contingent will visit St Thomas Church and Museum, Diu fort, Nagau Beach and Jeti Garden. The aim of this tour is to acquaint the children with the rich heritage of our country and increase their awareness about the culture, traditions, economic prosperity of other parts of our great Nation. The tour also aims at developing a spirit of adventure and national integration amongst the children.
