Beautification of Jammu city | Face-lifting peripheral areas, towns must | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 6: Minister for Revenue Raman Bhalla today conducted an extensive tour to Mohalla Dhuni Chand of Model Town in Digiana and Jeevan Nagar in Babliana and laid foundation stone for construction of fifteen lanes and drains in the areas for which he announce Rs. 15 lakh. Addressing the gathering at the Model Town in Digiana, Bhalla said that coalition government is fully aware of people’s problems and is making all out efforts to mitigate them in a phased manner. He appealed inhabitants to personally monitor quality of ongoing development works in their localities adding that people’s participation ensures completion of projects as per the quality parameters. For facilitating people of Preet Nagar, he said that a multipurpose double-storey community hall constructed at a cost of Rs.1.25 crore has been dedicated to the people of the area for smooth celebration of social as well as religious functions at nominal cost. He said that government has launched host of welfare schemes for uplifting the socio-economic conditions of the weaker sections, stressing the need for maximizing benefits from them. Minister said Government has earmarked Rs. 3.5 crore for construction of receiving station at Sanjay Nagar and Rs. 4 crore for parking slot at Shastri Nagar near cremation ground. Responding to the local demand, he asked tourism department to prepare a detailed project report for construction of viewpoints in Sanjay Nagar park adding that Government has already spent Rs. 1 crore on it for providing seating, irrigation, illumination, sprinkle fountain and pathway facilities to people.
