RAJOURI, Dec 6: For aiding and abetting militants in border district Poonch, government has imposed Public Safety Act on a former Centre Reserve Police Force cop who has been arrested by the police and sent to Central Jail Jammu.
As per reports, Khaliq Hussain a former CRPF cop and resident of Thera village in Mendher Tehsil of Poonch has been arrested by the police on Monday and sent to Central Jail Jammu for his links with the militants.
Police sources said that he was helping militants in the area for the last several months and was already on the radar of police for his anti-national activities. Police sources said that Khaliq Hussain along with his two sons was arrested three months back in connection with providing shelter to a Pakistani militant in his house who was killed in encounter with the forces.
On the basis of his activities, Deputy Commissioner Poonch had recommended his name for Public Safety Act. Police said that he has been picked up from his house this morning and sent to Central Jail. |
